Modern Live Edge Coffee Table | Modern Builds | EP. 25

Today on Modern Builds I’m making my second ever Live Edge slab table. I’m using a router-sled jig to flatten it out.

I loved your video!!!What kind of product did you use in step 8, surface love? I really like the natural finish in the wood!

  4. Stroker Ace says:

I have a big piece like that. I'm just not ready for all the sawdust it will make. My garage/shop, everything gets layered in dust.

  5. Allie Coppedge says:

where could I find a piece of wood like this?

  6. young steve says:

    Very creative method of flattening

  7. Amy Williams says:

I have been trying to sand a trunk (don't have a router) – this is a smaller piece…I have about an inch and a half difference. Any other ideas for leveling? Your piece ROCKS!!!

    dobra

  9. Anders Prahl says:

isn't it so, that the more you come to the middle. The harder it gets?

  10. Holy Atheist says:

Could you fill that big hole with something clear to keep it flat?

Great vid, very informative, I just have one pressing question.

    Single?

  15. xoviviiox says:

    Is it a heavy table??

  16. Marie says:

It does look absolutly amazing, but I'm a little worried about the praticality of the whole? It is prone to collect all the crumbs and dust and you will never, ever get them out! I think it would have been cool to smooth out the hole, sand it down and have some sort of integrated bowl there?

  17. spellett1 says:

Looks awesome! Don't you need to put some kind of sealant on it so that "stuff" doesn't get into the wood and ruin it?

  18. VashtheStampede says:

awesome table. I think we hAve the best carpenters around here in Oklahoma. I know you say local sawmill is where you find it. But which one here in the city because I haven't found one here that carries anything like that
